So since this blog was created, well over a year ago, we have not made one post! Slacker I know but seeing that we do most of our "blogging" if you can call it that on Facebook we didn't see much need to have a blog. Well just to let you know were we are and what we are up to here the run down. Sean and I have been living in Oregon since January of 2008. We were living with my grandparents and taking care of them in Salem. My Grandpa is 92 years old and my grandma is 82. We had a lot of fun with them and were very grateful for their hospitality.
While in Salem, Sean worked for North Salem High School and Coached Baseball for them as well. I was working on finishing my degree online from Eastern Oregon University, taking care of my grandparents, the high jump coach for South Salem high school and ran track for EOU as well. There was plenty to keep us busy.
Sean graduated from BYU in April (that's when he walked)...
In Track I ran the 100 meter hurtles and High Jumped...
(3rd place at conference)
And then in June I graduated from EOU...
Also in June we welcomed the newest member to the Nelson Family when Brad and Angie had there little boy Jason.
Soon after that Sean and I headed out Missouri to work at the Sho-me Baseball Camp. He coached, while I worked wonders in the Kitchen. Our trip started off with driving down to Utah where we spent a few days visiting with friends and family...

After we left Utah it was time to head down to Vegas where we were going to catch our flight to go to Missouri. On the way we stopped and took a break at the St George Temple...

(It was like 115 degrees that day and Sean really didn't want to get out of the air conditioned car. What a sport!)

In Vegas we had the opportunity to do a session at the Vegas Temple. It reminded me a lot of the Boise temple but I had to admire the palm trees.

By the time we got to Vegas it was starting to cool down. There was a storm coming and the wind was blowing fairly hard. Even with the wind it was still quite warm. This trip sure made us grateful for ac! While in Vegas we were lucky enough to stay with one of Sean mission buddies. They were so gracious to let us spend the night and have fun playing games with their little girl. The next morning we had to fly out really early and although we got there earlier, the storm that blew in that night had knocked out the Allegiance Air boarding program and so they had to manually enter in everyone's codes. Our flight ended up being delaid for over 2 hours.
When we Finlay made it to Missouri, we were welcomed with warm muggy air but we were grateful to be there.

Another weekend while were in Missouri we rented a car and headed up to Kansas City. There we visited with Sean's Aunt and Uncle and their two dogs. It was a great to see them. While we were in Kansas City we went and watched the Kansas City Royals play against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. It was a really neat game to watch because this was my first time at a Major league game and Sean second.
Our first seats were just up right Field, but during the middle of the game a big storm came in and boy did it rain! It dumped gallons in just seconds. It was really cool see the storm come and go. While we were watching the game you could see the sky over left Field was just black, while the rest of the sky was as sunny as could be. With in a half an hour the storm moved in and the rains came down. There was about an hour rain delay I believe and the rain ended about as fast as it started. After they took the tarp off of the Field people started returning to their drenched seats. Allot of people had left during the storm so we moved and got to sit right behind home plate (which is Sean's favourite place to sit).
The following week was our last week in Branson West Missouri. It was a great three weeks and made me fall in love with the area and the people that Sean has been able to work with for 3 summers...

Our flight home was very uneventful and we made it back to Vegas with out much of a problem and then we headed back to Utah. We stayed there a couple of days and then headed back home to Oregon. On our way home we stopped by Idaho Twin Falls temple. It was really wonderful because we were able to be there during the open house. It is a beautiful temple and we saw it on a really great day.
(Idaho Twin Falls Temple- I'm really proud of this picture because it looks professional :)
After our trip to Missouri we settled back down to earth and Sean got ready to go back to work and I started looking for work. Oh this was not a good time to be looking for work. The economy was just starting to turn south and layoffs were now become the in thing to do. Luckily in august Sean was blessed with a great opportunity to work in Beaverton. He received a job where he got to use both his Portuguese and his Spanish skills. . We would actually be making some money. On a sad note, we had to tell my Grandparents that we were moving. In November we moved about 45 miles north of them to Beaverton. They were sad to see us go but they knew that it was for the best.
Our apartment is one of the nicest places that we have lived so far. It is a small one bedroom apartment that is right next to a pond. We have access to two out door pools and one indoor pool, three year round hot tubs and they even have a nice weight room. Its covered in trees and really is a beautiful place to live.
After we moved we had a wonderful thanks giving with Grandma and Grandpa Nelson, and it was great to be around family.
More details of the rest of the year will follow...
