A New Job and Crater Lake!

About middle of June I felt like I should sit down and apply for some jobs. Well I applied for about 6 thinking that if I heard back from any it wouldn’t be for several weeks. Well the next morning I heard back from one of them and they wanted me to interview. That was way too soon so I told them I wouldn’t be able to make it down there. So a week later I get an email from another one that I had applied to but I got sick from a test that I had done and couldn’t make it to that one either. Then that same week I got a phone call from yet another company I had applied for and did a phone interview with them. They really liked what they heard over the phone so they wanted me to come down for a personal interview. So I drove down to Utah for the interview that Thursday. Well that went really well and they said that I would find out on Monday about the position. Around 5 that evening I got a phone call from the guy that interviewed me and he told me that the regional manager wanted to meet me and have an interview. I told him that I could only do it that day so I hopped into the car and had a third interview. At that interview I was told that I would have one more interview before knowing whether I got the job. I had the phone interview with the main boss in Minnesota . Well that went well because the next morning I got a phone call saying that I got the job and needed to be there by Saturday to fill out paper work and then to fly out Sunday to go to Minnesota for two weeks of training. So on Wednesday Sean and I got in the car and went for a mini vacation down to Crater Lake and then we traveled on down to Utah .
Our trip to Crater Lake was allot of fun and it really was good to have a vacation. Even though it was short it was great! Here are some pictures:

This is out side of the Diamond lake Resort. Diamond lake is right by Crater Lake and is a very beautiful place.

This is at the top of Crater Lake. It was cold at the top but by the time we got to the bottom...

...it was allot warmer. We decided to make the hike down to the water just to say that we did. We thought that it would only take about 20 minutes to do so but it ended up taking a little over an hour. It was well worth it though. It was a very dusty trail and I would suggest that if anyone hikes this trail not to wear flip flops.

This is how blue the water is at Crater Lake. It is very very beautiful but very cold! The story behind Crater Lake is that millions of years ago it was a volcano that blew its top and left a crater behind. Over the years the crater filled with glacier and rain water. We stuck our feet in the water and it reminded me of the ice baths that I would do after hard work outs (flat out cold).

All in all it was a great trip and I am grateful that we took the time to enjoy the beauty that Heavenly Father has placed around us. Plus it was wonderful to do something fun just with best man in the world!
