Zion's day two!

Day two of our adventure was a lot of fun but we were all a little sore from the 10 mile hike the previous day. This is our camp sight. It was called the Virgin River Resort. It had showers and indoor pluming and I guess a pool somewhere, so they called a resort. Mitch had a fun time making fun of it.

The morning view from our Resort camping sight!

On day two we decided to climb angels landing. It was about a 2.5 mile hike and we teased that the landing might be and angels landing but it takes the devils climb to get there.
It's hard to tell but these were a bunch of switchbacks that were so close together that they called them the wiggles or something like that.
You can't really tell in this picture but that was the trail that we had to climb to reach the top of the landing. This was taken from the point called scouts landing. Sean and I ended up climbing this alone and it was worth the holding on to a chain the whole way up to see the view.
Taken from the edge!

Part of the treacherous climb
More switch backs.

Maria and I decided to run down the mountain while the boys slowly came down. I guess it was ok to wait for them because they had to wait for us on the climb up.

We asked a guy to take our picture and he pretended to run off with it. It scared me but it did give a good chuckle.
I really like this picture of Sean and me.
So on our hike down the mountain we were talking about how steep the climb was and how I wouldn't ever want to make the last part of climb if it was raining because of how slick it would make the rocks. They have signs up saying that this climb has resulted in death and I could totally see where it could, especially when raining. As we were walking down the mountain it started to rain! I couldn't believe it. It was one of those funny coincidences.

This picture may seem a bit random but there was a water fall of water coming out of the middle of a mountain and I had my camera set on panoramic and didn't want to lose the picture so I took some other of Maria and Mitch.
I think we all got a bit of sun and by the end of the second day we were all a bit dirty and tired.

All in all it was a really great trip and it was fun to get to hang out with Maria and Mitch. I don't know about them but Sean and I sure had fun. I think next year we are going to try to go to Moab or maybe Lake Tahoe, but where ever it is I hope we make this a yearly thing!
