Thanksgiving 2010

I thought that I should post about Thanksgiving before Christmas came! So this year we celebrated Thanksgiving with my family in Portland Oregon.

After I was done with work on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, we headed off toward Portland, and braved the wintry weather. We had snow pretty much the whole way from Boise to Hood River. It was a little stressful but Sean is an amazing driver.

The first night we were blessed to be able to stay at Uncle Jon and Michelle's house. We put our air mattress out on there living room floor and the next morning we were awoken by their wonderful kids! We really enjoyed spending time with some of the best kids in the world, Jackson, Boomer and Sadie, oh and we had fun spending time with Jon and Michelle too ;).

Thanksgiving morning the Pippert family to invite us to join one of there traditions, making a turkey out of paper mache. Here are a few pictures of the family...

 (Sadie, Boomer, Jon, and Jackson)

Sadie having fun with the paper.

Jon and Jackson decided to cover Jackson's arm with the paper mache and make a cast.

This is what the kids do when they get tired of making a turkey. Boomer and me!

The kids left Jon to finish the project himself. Sorry Uncle Jon I think I distracted them :)

Here is Jackson waiting for his "cast" to dry.
He had a lot of fun but waiting is not Jackson suit.

Isn't Sadie just adorable? Jackson and Boomer are going to have a fun time being big brother for her!

Two minuets of the Macy's day Parade.

After the fun morning with Jon and his family, Sean came back from playing and we headed off to my
Aunt Donna and Uncle Vern's house for Thanksgiving dinner. Here are a few pictures of the fun we had there:

Ezra, Aunt Donna, Angie and Grandma, all adoring Ezra!

Ezra, Angie and Grandma Nelson.

Jason and Brad. Jason really stole the show this weekend. It was fun to play with him and he really came out of his shell!

As you can tell, Jason was a favorite to play with and he enjoyed playing with his Aunt Maria and Uncle Mitch.

Here is the Family after the wonderful meal!

Grace, she is turning into a beautiful young lady and she is fun to be around.

Grandma and Aunt Donna. It is so good to see them smiling! It is amazing the power that family has!

Joseph showing everyone the movie he made this year called, Then I Shall Rein Supreme!

Grandpa and Grandma holding there newest great grandson Ezra.

Jason and Aaron had alot of fun playing together. There is about 2 and half years difference between the two but they had alot of fun. They played catch on the stairs for an hour or so. Aaron still has to learn that he is a bit bigger then Jason.  He knocked Jason over and here is them making up. Even after falling down Jason was still asking to play with Aaron. I'm excited for these two cousins to play as they get older!

After dinner it was time to find the newspaper and make our plan of attack for Black Friday. We, Maria and I, that we would first go to the Outlet mall in Woodburn and then we would go to Wal-mart, and then we were going to go home. We took off to go to the Outlet mall and decided to take the back roads. I'm glad we did because the free way was jammed at the Woodburn exit and we were able to drive right there and found a decent parking space.

Maria and Mitch were able to find everything that they needed and so did I. We made it back to Uncle Jon's at around 3 in the morning. Sean was already asleep and he had set up air mattresses for both Maria and Mitch and for us too. Even though I wish Sean would have gone with us, it was worth spending time with Maria and Mitch.

Before 11 we went to Fred Myers with Michelle. It was great to spend some girl time with her. We then came back to find Brad and Angie at Uncle Jon's. Maria, Angie and I then left the boys to watch the kids and took off to go to the mall. We were on the hunt to find Angie some new clothes. Even though Black Friday is a very commercial time, over the past few years I have loved taking advantage of Black Friday with my family. In 2008 I went shopping with my brothers, in 2009 I went with my sister-in-law Brittany and then this year I went with Maria, Mitch, Angie and Michelle.

I wouldn't give up the time that I spent with them for anything! I love spending time with my family and I am really blessed to have such a wonder family!

Coming soon, Thanksgiving with the Pippert family...
